OUR APPROACH

We are a foundation that expands children’s access to sports, culture and the arts through grants.

Opportunities to experience sports, culture and the arts are influenced by family environment, local communities, and financial circumstances.
That is why we support organizations and individuals working for children through grants.

OUR APPROACH

We are a foundation that expands children’s access to sports, culture and the arts through grants.

Opportunities to experience sports, culture and the arts are influenced by family environment, local communities, and financial circumstances.
That is why we support organizations and individuals working for children through grants.

Why We Address This Issue

Not all children are able to stand at the same starting line.
Efforts to expand opportunities have continued, yet disparities still remain.
We believe the root cause lies in a structure where opportunities are determined by the environment.

Our Principles

We believe that, in facing this reality, we must revisit several key assumptions.

01

Opportunities are shaped by environment, not individuals

opportunity

Whether a child reaches the starting line is largely shaped by their environment, including family, community, and systems.

02

The environment itself must change

issue

The ability to stand at the starting line is determined by existing environments and systems. We work to transform those structures.

03

Opportunities must be continuous by design

transformation

Not one-time chances, but repeated opportunities for anyone to try again. Creating this condition is what true opportunity provision means.

Our Actions

Here is how our Children’s Sports & Culture Activity Grant Program works — in three pillars.

01

GRANT

Funding for activities

We provide grants, in principle free of charge, to organizations and individuals engaged in sports and cultural activities for children, covering the costs necessary to carry out their activities. Hands-on support with operations is also available where needed.

  • Grants for event costs
  • Grants for equipment and operating expenses
  • Grants for inviting professional instructors
step01

02

OPEN CALL

Open application for everyone

Grants are awarded through open calls based on guidelines published on our website. Applications are equally open to all eligible organizations and individuals.

  • Guidelines published on our website
  • Open to organizations (with or without corporate status) and individuals
  • Application periods and details set in each year’s guidelines
step02

03

FAIR SELECTION

Fair selection and disclosure

Based on predefined criteria, a selection committee that excludes anyone with a direct interest in an applicant screens applications, and the board of directors makes the final decision.

  • Selection involves people with expertise in education and in running or supporting non-profits
  • Fairness ensured by excluding conflicted parties
  • Grant recipients and results published on our website

Message from the Founder

img

For a child, starting sports may seem like a given but it is by no means something that happens for everyone.

Some children naturally come across such opportunities, while others do not.

Where does this difference come from?

By engaging with this question, we came to recognize that a child’s starting point is shaped and often divided by their environment.

To close this gap, simply increasing opportunities is not enough.

It is about encountering sports.
Spending time with teammates.
Challenging oneself and sharing both frustration and joy.
And ensuring that these experiences take root within each child as a part of their culture.

We aim to support these experiences by addressing each child’s circumstances and creating an environment where everyone can engage with sports and culture in their own way.
